Scotish born Iain has been surfing for over 3 years after moving from Scotland to South Wales with no idea how to surf but a strong determination to ride the waves! Soon after he became a volunteer Surf Mentor for the Wave Project Cymru charity, working with Cressey's Surf Academy to deliver surf therapy sessions to disadvantaged young people across South Wales.
His passion for the sea and surfing in particular grew through socialising with like minded people and he is now a qualified ASI Level 1 Surf Coach and a regular part of the team at CSA! You can often find Iain skating or surfing around Porthcawl with his dog Cody alongside...
After a childhood spent on the beaches of South Wales Dan rode his first wave back in 1988! Since that day is has been a key part of his life, taking him all over the world to surf new and better waves, though he is still particularly fond of his home break.
With around 20 plus years experience of surfing Dan loves nothing more than being in the water and encouraging others to share the stoke. He is an ASI Level 1 Surf Coach and holds a SLSGB Surf Coach Safety and Rescue Qualification. He loves to be able to share his passion for the sea and spread happiness through surfing as a surf coach, and is an extremely valuable part of the CSA team!
Porthcawl based Julia loves both surfing and stand up paddle boarding and has been an outdoor enthusiast for many years. Part of the original team of Surf Mentors when Wave Project Cymru was first launched in Wales in 2013, Julia has been working alongside Cressey's Surf Academy since that time.
Her passion for inclusion and her work with Wave Project led her to qualify as a Surf Coach specialising in Adaptive surfing working with children and adults with special needs and disabilities to bring the joy of surfing to everyone regardless of ability.
