Cressey's Surf Academy offers personal coaching if you are interested in developing skills to further your career in amateur or professional competitive surfing. Coaching of this nature is on a 1-1 or 1-2 basis only and tailored to individual needs and aims.

Formerly sponsored by Billabong and South African Surf Champion for Under 12's, Ingemar Cressey has competed across the world since the age of 10 years old, including competing as part of the UK Pro Surf Tour.

Being a professional surfer, like any other sport takes commitment and dedication to surfing, as well as personal health and fitness. As a qualified Fitness Instructor, as well as Surf Coach Ingemar is able to develop a bespoke programme of diet, exercise and surf instruction to help you achieve your goals. Wetsuits are available for use, but you should have your own board.

Competitive Surf Coaching is for those who consider themselves to be at higher level intermediate to advanced ability in the water, and have already gained a certain amount of confidence and experience within surfing, with a genuine passion for the sport.

Exactly what we teach you will depend on what you hope to get out of the lesson and whether or not you want to work on specific manoeuvres. On some sessions we may get you in the water first to get an exact idea of your ability.

Cressey's Surf Academy are able to help you:

improve your skills and competition strategies with video analysis

provide technical analysis of your surfing technique and manouveres

develop a positive mental attitude for competitive surfing

grow in confidence for surfing new and bigger waves safely

experience trial heats to fine tune your timing and skills in the water

gain insight into how surf events are run and judged

learn the best way to read the waves and outsmart your competitors
